Week 7 is Grammy Winners Night. Your song has to qualify one of three ways: it won the Grammy for Record of the Year, it won Song of the Year, or it's a track on an album that won Album of the Year. Other Grammy categories don't count this round, and neither does the artist just having won a Grammy at some point. Everyone still in the competition sings on Tuesday, October 20.
Due midnight Thursday, October 15
KaraFun only. Every backing track comes from the KaraFun catalog. Search it before you commit so you know the track exists and exactly which version you'll be singing to.
Keep it clean. All song choices need to be family friendly — no explicit lyrics.
Duplicates. If two contestants pick the same song, whoever submitted second switches to their backup. That's why the backup is required now — every field has to be filled in before the form will submit.
The category. Three ways in: the song won Record of the Year, the song won Song of the Year, or it's a track on an album that won Album of the Year. Pick which one in the form and give us the year it won — and if it's the album route, the album's name. Other Grammy categories don't count, and neither does the artist just having a Grammy on the shelf.
Deadline. Submissions close at midnight the Thursday before that week's show so tracks can be reviewed and pulled.
Your bye week. Every contestant gets one bye during the first five weeks — miss a night for any reason, no questions asked, no elimination. From week six on, attendance is required every week.
